The CoMMPASS online course is now in a production phase

The Erasmus+ CoMMPASS project is making great strides and, having drawn up the concept note and synopsis for each of the 14 modules, the authors are now working on the syllabus for their course.

Francis Chikunkhuzeni, Jacob Jimu and Andrew Kaponya of Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences sketching ideas on editorial marketing and collaborative journalism modules they are designing for the online course.

Each team brings together experts in very different fields (communication, history, marketing, economics, political science, etc.) to propose original content to cover the theme of African migration from new perspectives.

The content includes not only written material, but also videos, slide presentations and examples of good practice, commented on by those who produced them. The course is designed to be very practical, to put learners in a situation as if they were in a newsroom. It emphasises an African approach, both through the researchers referred to and through the media examples mentioned.

The Erasmus+ CoMMPASS project aims to create an online course in four languages on media coverage of migration for future and current journalists in sub-Saharan Africa.
